The first IEEE International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC2012) will be held in Beijing, China, from 15-18 August, 2012, under the theme “Communications for a Sustainable Future”. This is a newly incubated international conference by IEEE Communication Society (ComSoc) aiming at realistic globalization by extending ComSoc reach to fast-growing regions. By collaborating with local sister societies and leading research institutes, the conference will be held every year in greater China region.

ICCC2012 will bring together more than 400 scholars and experts from leading universities, research institutes, telecommunication operators and vendors from across the world. The local government, standard organizations and communications society have shown a great support to the event. Chairman of CIC, Deqiang Zhou, Academician Hequan Wu and Vice Minister of MIIT, Bing Shang are invited to be the Honorary General Chairs.

During the conference, we are honored to have Dr. Shumin Cao, President of China Academy of Telecommunications Research,Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Prof. Theodore Ted S. Shen (University of Waterloo), Jun Shu (Huawei Technologies), Steve Weinstein (former Chair of IEEE ComSoc, CTTC Services Co.).

The conference will feature major Technical Symposia, Industry Forums, Panels, Invited Tracks, Tutorials, and Workshops, among which Industry Forum is a newly designed program, and Steve Weinstein (CTTC Services Co.), T. Russell Hsing (Telecordia), Qi Bi (China Telecom Technology Innovation Center), and Jun Shu (Huawei) are invited to be the Co-Chairs of Industry Forums.
